I’m a longtime student of funerary architecture photographing headstones and memorials that tell a story. Our Social History is written on those stones.

I was a journalist for 35 years. Before moving into Media and Communications, I spent ten years as Assistant Editor of a fortnightly News Stand magazine. While there, I was a war correspondent during the first Gulf War and reported on the Army's support of the Kurds in northern Iraq and, extensively, on the war in the former Yugoslavia.

Afterwards, I launched or revamped half-a-dozen in-house magazines. I also led a PR team in the Nuclear Accident Response Team {NARO]. After the Gulf War, I joined the Territorial Army's Media Operations Group [MOG(V)] and twice won the TA Photographer of the Year Title.
